How do you refresh it?

Did you tried to update your graphic card?

Huh?   Which one is primary?  If this is about Extend mode, have you tried Duplicate?

Does the HDMI monitor need Audio?  If not disable it.  I see the same ridiculous default on my speakerless HDMI monitor.
